THE European leg of surfing's world championship tour is in jeopardy as the region's worst oil spill clogs beaches in France and Spain.
Three months after the oil tanker Prestige broke apart off Spain spilling 20,000 tonnes of fuel oil, the disaster is not over.
The world tour reaches the continent in September with three men's and two women's events planned for Spain, Portugal and France, but Japan is expected to be announced as an alternative location.
